It's literally THE best offensive masterwork in the game. Slightly related, but the moment you craft a dual element Blade of Tidarion with 10% chance of 5 Hidden Blades per hit, and cast a 24-hit Energy Barrage, is utterly glorious. This needs to be upvoted twice. Energy Barrage is with BoT and Hidden Blades is life.

Actually the two part of the bow open with a spring between them then the arrow is shot with a spring loaded trigger which once pressed releases the trigger which fires the arrow. The two part of the bow are connected by a string in order to open simultaneously and at and an equal angle.
It only does damage if the enemy is a higher level than your hidden blade. It makes sense to me. Low level hidden blade represents it's made of weaker material, higher level enemy means they have more armor/awareness of their surroundings. Your blade can't kill them because it isn't strong enough to penetrate their defenses, or you aren't
